Family struggling to heat their home

Family struggling to heat their home

Are you struggling to heat your home cost effectively?

If you find it hard to keep your home warm in the colder months and the thought of turning up the boiler fills you with dread because of the subsequent energy bill, you’re not alone. Millions of homeowners in the UK find it hard to keep their homes heated, especially those with low incomes and young children.

Typically, replacing boiler costs somewhere in the region of £2000 - £4000. For many families, this is simply out of reach. The ECO scheme has been set up to help those families who are most vulnerable by funding the installation of free boilers and home insulation. This helps to reduce your carbon footprint as well as lower energy bills. Replacing a G-rated boiler with a new modern A-rated on could help you save as much as £300 per year.

In order to qualify, you must be on a mains gas supply, be a homeowner or private tenant and meet the necessary benefits-related criteria.

Who are we?

Here at Free Boiler Grants, we are committed to supporting the roll-out of the 2020 ECO scheme. Through our simple two-minute application, we can help you determine whether you could enjoy the benefits of a free new boiler. If you do, we’ll then put you in touch with approved members of our network who can help you through the installation process. This service is 100% free of charge.

A new boiler for free? That sounds too good to be true.

The amount of funding you receive is determined by the efficiency of your current property. If you qualify online, a free survey will need to be undertaken, which will look at things like your current boiler type and insulation levels. In many cases, boilers are entirely free!

Save as much as £300 per year

Compared to modern boilers, older models are very inefficient. They waste more energy and require much more fuel and so by replacing your old boiler you can help to lower your energy consumption. This change has significant benefits for both your bank balance and the environment. You could save up to £300 a year on your bills.

Free heating controls

As well as getting a free, modern boiler, you’ll also be able to control how and when it heats. Full heating controls are provided where necessary, allowing you to time, programme and change your boiler functions to suit you.

The ECO scheme

As part of EU regulations, the UK needs to reduce its carbon footprint dramatically. The ECO, or Energy Company Obligation, has been put in place to make “Big Six” energy suppliers fund the installation of home efficiency measures like free boilers and insulation.
